Robotic Heart Surgery

UI Heart and Vascular Center specialists are the first in the region to use the Da Vinci robotic surgical system to repair mitral valves. This minimally invasive technique helps patients recover quicker than traditional mitral valve repair. Using a highly advanced robotic surgery system, a surgeon repairs heart defects through small incision in the patient's abdomen.
