Leonardo da Vinci's beautiful pinwheel rendering*—as seen in this issue—reminds us of his timeless ability to illustrate complex ideas with an artistic flair. Keenly aware of momentum as a powerful force, da Vinci (1452-1519) also understood its natural limitations. This particular drawing illustrates the impossibility of perpetual motion. Like the initiatives mentioned in this Annual Report, everything needs a source of energy to keep it moving forward. Our source of energy is the focus of our patients and their families.
