Asthma and Allergy Relationship

What Is the Relationship Between Asthma and Allergy?

Allergies are immune reactions to substances in the environment called allergens.

Allergies can be grouped by the kind of trigger, time of year or where symptoms appear.

Allergy sites include the nose (rhinitis), eyes (conjunctivitis), skin (dermatitis), gut (food allergy) and lungs (asthma).

Allergies are linked with asthma, but not all allergic people have asthma, and not all asthmatics are allergic.
