It takes less than one second for a third-degree burn to occur from these cooking methods:

Deep-frying:

500° F or 260° C

Baking:

400° F or 204° C

Frying:

300° F or 148° C

Boiling:

212° F or 100° C

Electric Crock Pot:

200° F or 93° C

Hot Beverages:

160-180° F or 71-82° C
