Cancer of the penis is rare, accounting for less than one percent of all cancers that occur in men. The cancer usually appears after a man reaches 60 years of age.
When penile cancer is caught early, it is highly curable. Unfortunately, it is estimated that up to half of all penile cancer patients wait as much as one year before
seeking treatment. It is critical that, once treated, patients continue to see their doctor for regular follow-up visits, to make sure the cancer has not returned.
