Cancer of the bile duct is also called cholangiocarcinoma. Bile ducts are tube like structures, which carry bile from the liver to the small intestine. Bile duct cancers are slow growing tumors that produce very few symptoms until it is late in the disease process. There are about 3000 — 4000 cases of bile duct cancer diagnosed in the United States each year.
