Cancer that starts in the eyeball is also called a primary intraocular cancer. The most common type of eye cancer is melanoma. A rare type of eye cancer is lymphoma of the eye. Children can be found to have eye cancer called retinoblastoma. Retinoblastoma is discussed in another area. Lymphoma is discussed under either Hodgkin’s lymphoma or non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Secondary sites of cancer (metastatic) are rarely seen in the eye. The most common type of primary cancers that move to the eye are breast and lung cancer. Information on secondary cancers of the eye would be found under the primary type of cancer.
