Testing, Diagnosis and Staging


The early symptoms of mesothelioma are often mistaken for common conditions and are ignored. Many patients will complain of pain in the lower back or at the side of the chest. Other symptoms include:
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Hoarseness
  • Coughing up blood
  • Swelling of the face and arms
