Most men and women can lower their cancer risk by choosing to live a healthy lifestyle and by working with their doctor so that if they do develop cancer, it is found early.

What are pituitary tumors?

There is no known cause of pituitary tumors. The use of birth control pills may be a possible risk factor in some female patients. About half of pituitary tumors are seen in persons who have a familial disorder called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 or MEN 1.
