Award
This award is granted every other year through the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. The amount of each award is $2,500. A plaque will be presented to the recipients at a recognition event with members of the Dorfman family present.

Conditions
Awards will be granted to one basic and one clinical research publication. Eligible papers are to be published in peer-reviewed journals in 2005 or 2006, or accepted for publication and currently in press.

Eligibility
Recipients must be members of the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. Applicants may submit more than one paper, but each paper will be reviewed individually. Recipients of the Dorfman Award within the past two years are not eligible.

Deadline
Deadline for submission of published papers: Noon, Wednesday, February 28 2007.

Notification
Applicants will be notified of the award in March or April of 2007, with a Recognition Event and presentation of Award Plaque in the Spring, 2007.

How to Apply
Applicants should submit a Cover Letter, which identifies the contact person with name, title, address, telephone number and a brief summary describing why you feel the paper is deserving of the award. The summary should include the key issues addressed in the manuscript and a description of the impact of your paper on these issues. Failure to provide the summary and identifying key issues will negatively impact on the review of the manuscript.
