Prevention Program
To initiate your individualized risk factor modification program, you
will be scheduled for a preliminary evaluation which will include the
following:
ECG-Monitored Functional Evaluation
This test will be performed to assess your heart and vascular
response to exercise. You will be attatched to a telemetry
electrocardiogram which will monitor three different views of your
heart while you exercise. In addition, your blood pressure will be
closely monitored.
Ideal Body Weight
We will determine your ideal body weight using a method appropriate for your build.
Lipid Profile
In most cases, a lipid profile will be obtained. This will
measure your blood cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL. You
will be counseled and assisted in ways to improve your lipid
profile.
Nutritional Assessment
If indicated, you will meet with a registered dietitian for
evaluation and continued education, if necessary.
Physical Assessment
Our staff nurses, physical therapists, and exercise physiologist
will perform a physcial assessment to enable optimal
individualized program planning and implementation.
Our qualified staff will put you on an exercise program that is
safe and effective for you. They will be available to you for
assistance and to keep a close watch on your progress. CHAMPS has a
variety of exercise equipment for you to use.
Prevention Program participants are free to use the equipment in
the exericse area during the following hours:
CHAMPS is open 7 days a week:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
