Prevention Program

To initiate your individualized risk factor modification program, you will be scheduled for a preliminary evaluation which will include the following:
ECG-Monitored Functional Evaluation
This test will be performed to assess your heart and vascular response to exercise. You will be attatched to a telemetry electrocardiogram which will monitor three different views of your heart while you exercise. In addition, your blood pressure will be closely monitored.

Ideal Body Weight
We will determine your ideal body weight using a method appropriate for your build.

Lipid Profile
In most cases, a lipid profile will be obtained. This will measure your blood cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL. You will be counseled and assisted in ways to improve your lipid profile.

Nutritional Assessment
If indicated, you will meet with a registered dietitian for evaluation and continued education, if necessary.

Physical Assessment
Our staff nurses, physical therapists, and exercise physiologist will perform a physcial assessment to enable optimal individualized program planning and implementation.

Our qualified staff will put you on an exercise program that is safe and effective for you. They will be available to you for assistance and to keep a close watch on your progress. CHAMPS has a variety of exercise equipment for you to use.
