Select an Event: Decide what type of fundraiser you want to have and when you want to have it. We have provided a list of possible ideas , or think up one of your own. Remember to consider how much time you have, how much help you have, and what you think would be most successful in your area. Think about what you will need for the fundraiser and if you have enough resources to do it. Most importantly, select something that will be fun for you!

Return the Fundraiser Registration Form to Children's Miracle Network. We want to know about all the great things you are doing! This also helps us maintain creditability with donors and prevents things like two events in the same town on the same day.

Gather Resources/Get Help: Depending on the type of the event, you may need to secure a venue, in-kind donations of food or prizes, and volunteers. Make a list of everything you could possibly need and start tracking those things. Make sure you have enough volunteers helping you! Often times family members and neighbors ask what they can do to help. Take them up on it!

Promote the Event: If it is a community event contact your local media. (Sample Press Release ) If it is at work see if you can post flyers. Think about what makes you want to attend an event. Please use this language when referring to the connection between your event and Children's Miracle Network: "(Event Title) to benefit University of Iowa Children's Hospital."

Have Your Event: This is pretty self explanatory! But make sure that you take a few minutes to enjoy yourself!
