Responsibilities:

• Investigates outbreaks and clusters of infections throughout University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics
• Implements national infection control guidelines and standards (i.e. CDC, OSHA, JCAHO, CMS) at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to help prevent the transmission of infection
• Educates the staff at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the community in infection control and prevention
• Provides on-going efforts to improve hand hygiene throughout the hospital and clinics
• Works closely with Capital Management and Facilities Services to provide safety during construction and renovation
• Infection prevention liaison to University of Iowa Children’s Hospital and Burn/Trauma Center

• BS, Chapman University, Orange, CA

• Member of National APIC and Eastern Iowa APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology)
