About UI's CAH Network
TEAMwork makes the netWORK!
CAH Networks are valuable because they allow for cost-savings by the pooling of resources and by sharing certain services or staff.
Participating hospitals:
- support each other in meeting the basic requirements and regulations of CMS;
- have network discussions between staff members to share knowledge and best practices;
- support each other in surviving - which helps assure access to patient care in rural areas.
A CAH Network for six area rural hospitals was developed during 2001-2003, through UI Hospitals and Clinics Clinical Outreach Services. In April 2002, CEOs from these hospitals met with UI Hospitals and Clinics for what began to be the development of the University of Iowa CAH Network and a Network Agreement was established.
The current participating hospitals:
- Keokuk County Health Center, Sigourney, IA
- Marengo Memorial Hospital, Marengo, IA
