Blood Transfusions Save Lives
The DeGowin Blood Center is a hospital-based blood center that collects blood for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics patients. Each week more than
600 blood products are transfused at the hospital.
The blood center is staffed by physicans, medical technologists, nurses, and technicians who have training and certification in transfusion medicine.
It is registered with the Food and Drug Administration and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks and the College of American Pathologists.
The results of the June, July and August Staycation blood drives are
in. Congratulations to Eleanor Krejci, Bonnie Brown, and Kristine Rees--winners of the Staycation raffle prizes.
