4th of July 2008

"On Our Way to Better Things" was the theme this year of the Coralville 4th of July Parade. What an apt theme -chosen before the flood of 2008.

DeGowin was excited to be a presence in the parade to show our support of the community and thank them for their help throughout the year. We are always happy to spread the word of our mission to supply blood to the patients at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A big thanks to all who helped. Kitty (who drove the truck), Judy S., Shari, (great hat!) Natalie, Zari (with sister-in-law Shari and nephew Daniel), Judy(with sister-in-law Lesley and niece & nephew Grace and Ryder), Chris (riding his bike and hawking for DeGowin), and of course our ardent supporter and donor, Harold (recruiting donors, dashing through the crowd and passing out flyers). It was a beautiful day, a big crowd, and a fun way to spend a small part of the 4th of July- with our donors and friends-yelling "Yeah, DeGowin!" all along the way.
