  • How can my company find out more about the Executive Health program?
    Please contact us at 319-356-2828 or executive-health@uiowa.edu. We have information we can send to your company. We can also come to your company and give a presentation illustrating the benefits of our program.
  • Do I have to be an executive to go through your program?
    No, anyone can go through our program.
  • What should I bring?
    • A list of your current medications and how much you are taking of each. (It may be helpful to bring the bottles with you.)
    • Pertinent medical information and X-rays supplied by your local physician, if you have not already sent that information.
    • Your health insurance card, in case additional tests or exams not included in the Executive Health program are needed.
  • How long will my Executive Health Physical take?
    Your Executive Physical will take place in less than one day. 
  • Are your programs covered by health insurance?
    Because of the highly specialized, preventive nature of our program, most insurance companies will not cover our services. Therefore, we do not bill insurance. If you come through the Executive Health program and require further testing or treatment, those appointments will be billed through your insurance provider as usual.
  • Does the Executive Health service conflict with my primary care physician?
    No. We regularly consult with many other physicians inside and outside of the UI Health Care system. With your written authorization, we will send a letter with your test results to your primary care physician and consult with him or her as needed. Additionally, our program is not a substitute for your primary care physician.
  • How far in advance do I need to schedule my appointment?
    Please contact us at least four to six weeks in advance to schedule your Executive Health physical. Appointments can be made by calling 319-356-2828.
  • Is there an example of a typical day?
    Yes, there is a proposed itinerary. Please keep in mind that these are examples only.
  • What should I wear?
    Because you will be participating in a treadmill test, please wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes.
  • Should I eat or drink prior to my appointment?
    Please do not drink or eat anything after midnight the night before your physical.  You will receive a complimentary breakfast following your blood screening. 
  • How do I know if I need a colonoscopy? 
    The American Cancer Society recommends a colonoscopy every three to five years for all persons after age 50. Please contact Executive Health if you wish to discuss this further.
  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?
    Please call 319-356-2828 at least seven days in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
