Christopher J. Goerdt, MD, MPH, received his medical degree from The University of Iowa. After completing a residency at University of Washington Affiliated Hospitals in Seattle, he completed a general internal medicine fellowship at University of Minneapolis Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis. Paul James, MD, received his medical degree from University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and completed a residency at University of Virginia Hospitals and a fellowship at State University of New York at Buffalo. His clinical interests lie in family medicine and his research interests include practice-based research networks, quality of primary care measures, rural health service delivery, medical education, and measures of instructional quality. James is the Head of the Department of Family Medicine, an Endowed Chair in Rural Medicine at Iowa Academy of Family Physicians, and a professor at the Roy J. and Lucille A Carver College of Medicine.
