Resident and Fellow Education

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics sponsors advanced medical and dental training for approximately 700 residents and fellows in 68 programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Numerous non-accredited programs are also sponsored. 

A diverse medical community with a varied socioeconomic patient population supports physician training at Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center.

Institutional Accreditation News

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education has recently announced that UI Hospital and Clinics has been granted full continued accreditation for the maximum length of five years for its graduate medical education programs.
