The privacy of health information has always been a top priority at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Keeping patient's health information private is everyone's responsibility.

If you come into contact with patients' health information as part of your work, you are bound by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as the associated UI Hospitals and Clinics policies and procedures (secure log-in required). All full and part-time staff, students and volunteers are required to receive the UI Hospitals and Clinics Privacy Rule Training.
