In the fight to understand Huntington disease (HD), scientists use many different types of research. By volunteering to be part of research, you play a vital role in advancing scientific understanding.
Several HD studies are currently in progress and we always welcome new participants.
If you would like to be involved or learn more about any of the following studies, please contact Anne Leserman at 319-353-4307 or anne-leserman@uiowa.edu.
Note: There is no cost to the subject for participating in the research study. In some instances, compensation and travel reimbursement is available.
Observational studies currently enrolling
Observational trials can be an important precursor to clinical therapy trials. These studies attempt to document the symptoms and progression of HD in order to later judge the effectiveness of a particular drug or treatment.
The following studies are currently enrolling participants. Please click on a study to learn more about who may be eligible to participate.

COHORT and the new Enroll-HD study
The COHORT trial is now concluded and is no longer enrolling participants. However, the new global HD study Enroll-HD, described as the next phase of COHORT, is anticipated to be enrolling participants by the end of 2011. Click here for more information on the transition from COHORT to Enroll-HD.
