Philosophy


As the centralized resource for facilitating access to UI Health Care professionals and programs, the Integrated Call Center provides a full array of services to meet the multiple needs of health care consumers, receivers, providers, and payors. It supports the high-quality health care services provided by University of Iowa Health Care's faculty, staff, and clinical services, and represents a proactive and consistent way of responding to a rapidly changing health care environment. The Center's staff believes that self-management and decision-support systems are important tools in enabling, educating, and encouraging people to improve their health and making appropriate use of medical resources. Additionally, the Center is a tool to enhancing our understanding of consumer needs and positioning UI Health Care to better serve these needs.

The Integrated Call Center is staffed by registered nurses and referral specialists (non-clinical staff).
