A tour

If you would like a tour of our Labor and Delivery unit while you are here for a regular prenatal appointment, please ask your clinic nurse to arrange one for you and your partner.

We want your labor and birth to be a positive experience, and we want you to have a healthy baby. Even if your labor and birth are not quite what you expected, we want you to feel that you did your best.

When you arrive at the labor and delivery desk, a nurse will show you to your room, complete a brief physical exam, and take a short history of your pregnancy and labor.

While the nurse is admitting you, she will apply two small discs to your abdomen, secured by two elastic belts. One disc will record your baby's heart rate and the other disc will record your contractions as they occur. Twenty to 30 minutes of fetal monitoring will tells us how your baby is tolerating labor.

The new Labor and Delivery Unit has 8 labor and delivery rooms, a dedicated ultrasound room, and 4 triage/recovery rooms. After your delivery you will stay in one of our 20 post-partum rooms. For Mother Baby care with everything from large customized memory foam beds, whirlpool baths, a la carte meal menus, DVD, VCR, CD players to pull out couches and internet access in each room.
