Discharge from the Hospital

You and your baby will be discharged for the hospital in about 48 hours after a vaginal delivery and about 72 hours after a cesarean delivery.  If you are not sure what your insurance will cover for you or your baby, please call them as soon as possible.  If you need assistance with this, let your nurse know.

When your infant is ready for discharge, please bring your car seat to your room.  A nurse will help you with positioning your baby in the seat.  If your baby was born premature or was small when born, the nurse will do a car seat evaluation with your baby and car seat.
