Thoracic Surgery Residency Program

Typical Schedule

The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery offers two first year positions in its Thoracic surgery residency. In addition to training at UI Hospitals and Clinics, each resident will also spend time at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (within walking distance).

A sample training program is listed below. All rotations are full-time and are at UI Hospitals and Clinics and the Veterans Medical Center unless otherwise noted. This schedule is only an example: there may be variations throughout each year.
