Mechanics

The AirCare maintenance staff is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Two mechanics are based in Iowa City for AirCare I and one mechanic is based in Waterloo for AirCare II. They perform daily aircraft and engine worthiness checks, as well as all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, all minor and major repairs of the aircraft, engines, and appliances. They maintain current and up-to-date date publications of the aircraft, engine and appliances, and monitor and track the daily status of all life-limited parts installed on the aircraft as well as all inspections required by the manufacturer, Air Methods, and the FAA. In addition, the mechanics perform quality assurance of two fuel storage systems by performing periodic inspections of both facilities to ensure fuel quality.
