Application Process


Admission Requirements:

  • Application (download pdf and print from website)
  • Degree from accredited PA program
  • Iowa state licensure/eligible (by the start of residency)
  • PA School Transcripts (sent from school to below address)
  • 3 letters of recommendation (professional/school)
  • Personal statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Application fee of $50 (made payable to UIHC, Dept. of Emergency Medicine)
    Fee waived for University of Iowa PA students
  • Interview

Calendar of Events:

  • Completed applications and supporting documents must be received no later than March 31, 2008.
  • Interviews to be arranged in March and early April
  • Notification of acceptance to be sent no later than April 15
  • * ATLS course: June 23, 2008
  • ** Residency start date: June 30, 2008
  • Graduation: December 2009

** Residency start date is flexible and will be determined on an individual basis pending on PA School curricular commitments and graduation.

* ATLS, ACLS, and PALS are required before working in the ETC. We will arrange for these courses to be taken in accordance to individual start dates.
