University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics:
The EM-PA curriculum takes full advantage of the remarkable resources offered at UI Hospitals and Clinics.  UI Hospitals and Clinics is Iowa's only academic medical center and comprehensive care center with 769 beds, over 200 healthcare specialties, with approximately 638,000 patient care visits and admissions annually.

Each year, the Emergency Treatment Center at UI Hospitals and Clinics treats more than 30,000 patients from across Iowa and surrounding states. Located in Iowa City, Iowa, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been certified as a Level I Trauma Center with Pediatric Commitment - the highest level of trauma center designation the American College of Surgeons offers. In addition, UI Hospitals and Clinics has been verified by the Iowa Department of Public Health as a 'Resource Trauma Care Facility' reflecting the state's most comprehensive level of trauma care.

A fully renovated emergency room opens in March 2008, encompassing 63,000 square feet of patient care space, X-ray and CT facilities, and staff support areas.
