Project Summary: Studies in an urban community showed that insurance status could impact patient survival. The goal of this project is to determine whether insurance status affects the health and/or survival of Iowans who require emergency care. Results from these studies will contribute toward evaluating the Iowa EMS system and toward shaping public policy to improve patient care for all Iowans.
