Coralville Reservoir and Devonian Fossil Gorge, located six minutes north of Iowa City, offers camping, fishing and boating facilities. The Devonian Fossil Gorge was created in 1993 when floodwaters exposed a large bed of marine fossils more than 375 million years old. Nearby Palisades Kepler State Park offers hiking and mountain bike trails and grand views of the rocky bluffs along the banks of the Cedar River.

Educational Highlights -- The University of Iowa's enrollment is over 27,000 students with 3,900 full-time and visiting faculty from around the world. Fifty percent of Iowa City residents have at least a four-year college degree. The public school system of Iowa City, Coralville and the surrounding area enjoys a 97 percent graduation rate, and area high schools boast some of the nation's highest percentages of National Merit Scholars
