Conferences

Luncheon conferences are held Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and are designed specifically to complement clinical learning experiences. On-going conference series are given in adolescent medicine, behavioral medicine, chronic disease management, community medicine, critical care, evidence-based journal clubs, geriatrics, health management systems and quality improvement, morbidity and mortality rounds, pharmacy update and women’s health care. Family Medicine morning report is held weekday mornings with a brief review of the past 24 hours on the in-patient service.

The conference schedule including topic, speaker, location and time is posted weekly.

A wide variety of excellent conferences are conducted by other departments in the College of Medicine.  Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these educational opportunities whenever possible. Conference schedules from Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Psychiatry are posted weekly in the Residents Room.
