A native of Michigan, Dr. Debernardi completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and taught pre-kindergarten, first grade and physical education prior to entering medical school. During medical school Dr. Debernardi was active with Habitat for Humanity, a medical aid mission to Cuba with International Medicine Group REMEDY, and fundraising activities for the American Medical Student Association. Hobbies and interests include travel (Brazil, Canada, the Bahamas, Mexico, Cuba, Peru, Belize), visiting museums, archaeological civilizations and historical sites, soccer, water aerobics, urban tai chi, hiking, photography and cooking.
