Elizabeth King, MD
Second-Year Resident
University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine
Although I was born in Mason City, Iowa, I grew up in Atlanta, New Jersey, and Chicago before returning to Iowa to earn a degree in English (Pre-Med focus, Spanish minor) here at the University. I stayed for medical school, and now residency, which should tell you how much I love Iowa City. It is an amazing place with opportunities to do almost anything you could in a larger city without the hassle. On the medical side of things, we have a more diverse patient population than the rest of the state, and I have found ample opportunities to use and improve my Spanish skills. I also enjoy working with underserved populations at UIHC, the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic, and abroad (so far in the Dominican Republic and Honduras). In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, biking, gardening, cooking, playing the cello, and spending time with friends and family. I am happy to talk with anyone about our program or anything else related to Iowa, so please feel free to contact me. Email: elizabeth-king@uiowa.edu |
