- Three weeks (21 days) vacation
- Complimentary inpatient and outpatient medical service for resident physician and dependents (no premiums, no deductibles, no co-payments)

In addition to benefits provided by The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic, the Family Medicine department extends the following benefits to its residents:
- One week conference leave
- One week for Practice Search Leave (final year of training)
- Parental elective policy for the birth of a child (six weeks for mother and two weeks for father); additional time may be taken under the Family Medical Leave Act
- Moving/transition allowance of $1,000
- Book and conference funds of $750/year
- Personal Digital Assistant (handheld computer) and medical software
- Desk top computer for individual study carrel (located in Residents’ Room)
- Mid-winter retreat for resident group (including family members)
- Payment of $146 application fee for Iowa resident physician license
- Payment of $446 application fee for Iowa permanent medical license and associated administrative fees
- Payment of $100 application fee for the Iowa State Controlled Substances Registration
- Payment of initial $390 registration fee to Federal Drug Enforcement Agency
- Payment of annual resident membership dues to the American Academy of Family Physicians
- Registration fee for American Board of Family Medicine certification exam
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics Course
- Advanced Trauma Life Support Course
Pella Regional Health Center provides housing for the Pella Rural Track residents in the second and third years of training in Pella.
