• Cognitive neuroscience, focusing on applications of functional neuroimaging to investigation of the neural systems supporting lexical processing, emotion, and decision making
• Physiological correlates of defective cognition, especially aphasia
• Statistical analyses for functional brain images
• Development of statistical methods for analyzing brain activation images from individual brain-damaged subjects
• Investigation of lexical retrieval in normal and brain-damaged populations with position emission tomography
• Investigation of neural correlates of emotional states and decision making with position emission tomography
