Policy on Resident Evaluation of
Neurosurgical Faculty and Residency Program

This policy and procedure delineates the Department of Neurosurgery’s policy for the evaluation of department faculty and the neurosurgery residency program.

Residents will fill out anonymous evaluations of each attending annually.  This will be performed via E*Value.  Individual evaluations will be compiled by the residency coordinator and the aggregate results submitted to the Chairman and Program Director.  Evaluations are discussed with the departmental faculty annually.

All residents are also required to anonymously evaluate the residency program.  This will be completed via E*Value, providing a confidential means of evaluation.  Rotations, hospital services, and conferences are evaluated to assess all aspects of the training program.  Evaluation results are collectively reviewed annually at a faculty meeting with resident representation, and used to continually improve the residency program.
