Emotional Considerations
|
Couples who choose in vitro fertilization (IVF) may find themselves on an emotional rollercoaster, from elation to letdown. It's important to understand that is part of the process, and that your emotional health is a critical part of this process.
Feelings can range from desperation to isolation to a sense of loss of control. The actual treatment cycles can disrupt life schedules, particularly for the woman.
What Helps?
- Know what to expect
- Cushion yourself with as many sources of emotional support as possible. That includes the counselors, medical and nursing staff available to you at the Center for Reproductive Medicine.
- Work through key decisions before you start the treatment
