Gynecologic Oncology

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology is located within the John and Mary Pappajohn Clinical Cancer Center, Elevator I-4th Level. See Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has a long history of excellence in the treatment of cancer. The hospital's Tumor Registry enters 2,599 new cancer cases each year with over 107,773 cases registered since 1938. Iowa also participates in the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results Program.

The University of Iowa is a founding member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group and participates actively in its protocols. All gynecologic chemotherapy is conducted by the Division of Gynecologic Oncology with active advice and support from the Solid Tumor Division of Medical Oncology. Clinical cooperation among all services including Surgery and Urology is solid and long-standing with excellent working relationships.
