Laser Vision Correction

Alternative Treatments

Alternatives for correcting myopia include eyeglasses, contact lenses and other refractive surgeries such as radial keratotomy, intracorneal rings, or intraocular lens implants.

Radial keratotomy (RK) uses a calibrated diamond blade to make radial incisions in the cornea. This procedure is available to reduce low levels of myopia.

Intraocular lens implant (IOL) is a procedure in which a synthetic lens is implanted into the anterior or posterior chamber of the eye. This procedure is under investigation and not available at this time.
