3. Speech Perception in Noise; Noise facing left CI

Test set-up:

• Speech presented from loudspeaker placed directly in front (0º) of the patient at 70 dB C
• Speech noise presented from a loudspeaker at 90º directly facing left CI.  Noise presented at 60 dB C below the speech (i.e. + 10 dB signal-to-noise ratio).
• If the patient scores above 80% correct (ceiling effect) or below 20% correct (floor effect) at +10 dB signal-to-noise ratio, then an alternative signal-to-noise ratio should be used.  Record the signal-to-noise ratio.
• At least 20 sentences per test condition

• Right CI
• CI+CI

4. Word Recognition in Quiet

Test set-up:

• Speech presented from loudspeaker placed directly in front (0º) of the patient at 70 dB C
• At least 100 words per test condition

Test Conditions:

• Right CI
• Left CI
• CI+CI
