For nearly the past two decades, the Otolaryngology Department at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been ranked in the top 3 in the country by its peers.

We share the mission of offering excellent patient care, quality teaching for the next generations and innovative research. Our staff includes world renowned board certified physicians, as well as clinical nurses who are certified (CORLN) in the unique care of head and neck patients and who contributed to the nursing "Magnet" status of the hospital. Clinical specialists in speech and swallowing, audiology, balance disorders and tinnitus are among the many professionals who make it possible to offer our patients complete and coordinated care.
