John earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, with a major in Zoology: Human Biology. During the course of his degree he spent two years in Bogota, Columbia as a missionary. He joins our program after graduating from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he most recently participated in research under Joseph Califano. The research attempted to find signs of cellular oxidative damage as a marker for genetic alteration in pre-malignant and malignant H&N lesions.
As a fluent Spanish speaker he worked as an intern for Novell Inc Latin American Marketing, and as a translator for the Wienberg Clinic in Baltimore, MD.
