George F. Harris IV, M.D.

George became interested in Otolaryngology while studying for his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana, where he graduated with special distinction.  His interest in novel mechanisms to prevent mouth cancers led him to pursue a medical degree at Loyola University in Chicago.  Presently his research is focused on human papilloma virus in head and neck cancer, and the role of novel chemotherapeutic agents, with Dr. John H. Lee.  Married, and a father of 2 young girls, he enjoys spending time with his family, as well as spending time in his workshop, where as an eager woodcraftsman he enjoys the satisfaction of tasks that require manual dexterity and intellectual challenge.
