Matthew Provenzano, MD


After graduating with a degree in Chemistry from Valparaiso University in Indiana, Matthew entered The Johns Hopkins University to complete his medical degree.  Under the tutelage of Joseph Califano, MD he helped characterize a novel tumor suppressor gene involved in squamous cell cancer of the head and neck.  He presently works in the lab of Frederick Domann, PhD researching a pharmacologic method of up-regulating of the sodium iodine symporter as a treatment for patients suffering from thyroid cancer.

A talented pianist, Matthew enjoys woodworking and has traveled to Russia, and China as a missionary.
