Geir Tryggvason, MD

Geir Tryggvason completed his medical training at Landspítali hospital in Reykjavik, Iceland.  His subspecialty interests in Otolaryngology lean toward Oncology.  During his training rotation through Pathology, he conducted research into the mutational analysis on all Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST) diagnosed in Iceland from 1990-2004, a subject on which he has published widely.

Accompanying him to Iowa are his wife and three year old daughter.  He enjoys outdoor activities like soccer, sport shooting, running and cooking.
