Kate Gfeller, PhD


Kate Gfeller is director of the Music Therapy Program in the School of Music, holds a F. Wendell Miller endowed professorship, and holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on perception of and affective response to music, more specifically in persons with disabilities. Dr. Gfeller is a principal investigator for the Music Perception Project on the Iowa Cochlear Implant Team. As a Principal Investigator on the CI Team, she researches the musical perception and enjoyment by adults and children who use cochlear implants.
