We are the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes.

Our team of health professionals work together to provide consultative services and/or long term care for the diagnosis and management of children with endocrine disease and diabetes. Our specialties include treating children with diabetes mellitus, hypoglycemia, disorders of physical growth, sexual maturation, thyroid function, pituitary function, adrenal function, calcium and phosphorus metabolism, and weight management.

Our diabetes clinic cares for children with diabetes in the State of Iowa and surrounding states. The clinic is held at The University of Iowa Children's Hospital in the Pediatric Specialty Clinic. To help facilitate families in outlying communities we also offer Outreach clinics in 4 cities, including: Davenport, Waterloo, Ottumwa, and Burlington.

We also train new professionals to care for children with endocrine disorders and diabetes. Medical students and pediatric residents and pediatric endocrinology fellows are a vital component of our educational research and clinical care programs.

Clinical research studies are available for patient participation for the most up to date clinical treatments in the field of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. We are also involved in basic science research in search of further advancements in the field of endocrinology and diabetes.
