The Department of Pediatrics offers outstanding academic fellowship training in 10 subspecialty areas. Two of our fellowship programs offer NIH T32 subspecialty training grant slots: cardiology and hematology. Our Pediatrics Department faculty ranks in the top 10 in total National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding dollars among publicly supported medical schools.
The UI Carver College of Medicine ranks 11th in NIH external funding among public universities.
A weekly Core Curriculum Fellow's Seminar provides opportunities for fellows to meet socially for enhancing their professional development, explore research options, advance teaching skills and present research. Our benefits and services offered to fellows and their families are outstanding and our stipends are very competitive.
The research opportunities available to our fellows are many. In addition to our training grants, we also offer graduate degree programs and graduate coursework. All are done under the guidance and encouragement of our faculty who are experienced mentors and scientists whose interest and expertise includes research in clinical, translational and basic areas. See what our department chairman, Dr. Artman and some of our fellows have to say about our outstanding fellowship programs.
We look forward to hearing from you.
