Description of Clinical Genetics Rotations


University of Iowa Children’s Hospital (UICH): General Genetics Clinics

These one-half day clinics take place in the Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic area of the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital/UIHC on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons; six patients are scheduled to be seen each afternoon.  These patients may represent follow-up visits or new evaluations and have a wide range of disorders, including chromosomal, Mendelian, sporadic malformations and metabolic genetic diseases.  Both adult and pediatric patients are seen in this clinic.

Duration:  Three 1-month long rotations per year
