Clinical Interests
Director of Pediatric Cardiology. Non-invasive assessment of cardiac anatomy and function. Primary imaging modality is echocardiography, also includes magnetic resonance imaging and ultra-fast computed tomography.
Research Interests
- Fetal and postnatal development of myocardial energy producing reactions
- Mechanisms of postnatal cardiac remodeling.
- Studies exploring the impact of the fetal environment on postnatal mitochondrial function and cardiac performance.
- Automated analysis of cardiac magnetic resonance images in patients with congenital heart disease

- Development of myocardial reducing equivalent shuttles and their regulatory enzymes
- Fetal programming of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species production
- Mechanisms of myocardial remodeling in the offspring of diabetic mothers
- Automated analysis of magnetic resonance images of the right ventricle in patients with tetralogy of Fallot and of the aorta in patients with connective diseases
